Christopher
Bebel - Narrative CV
 Chris Bebel is a veteran securities
law specialist who has distinguished himself as a lawyer, an
expert witness, and in academic circles. He holds an advanced
law degree in Securities Regulation from Georgetown University
Law Center, Washington, D.C. Chris Bebel has published scholarly
articles associated with various securities law issues and
has lectured throughout the country on a large collection
of securities topics. Prior to the time at which he entered
private practice, Mr. Bebel served as a regulator at the
SEC (Division of Enforcement) and the NASD (n/k/a FINRA) (Division of Enforcement).
Chris Bebel is also a former federal prosecutor specializing
in securities fraud matters. He tried the landmark, precedent
setting case of United States v. O’Hagan and thereby
helped establish key securities law principles. Mr. Bebel
was broadly commended for the talent and skill he displayed
in the O’Hagan trial, which had
been regarded by observers as a case that couldn’t be
won.
Given the highly specialized nature of
the civil and criminal securities law practice he has maintained
for roughly two decades, Chris Bebel is often viewed as an
experienced attorney who has been “in the trenches” and “on the front
lines,” and is thus uniquely situated to understand and
appreciate the details and nuances of issues and developments
arising within the securities arena. Consequently, Mr. Bebel
has frequently been asked to share his acumen and insights
with respect to a broad array of issues affecting the securities
industry, financial professionals, securities regulators, corporate
officers, capital formation, etc.
